Commissioning a Work of Art
Steps in the Commissioning Process
Email me (whitaker.emma@gmail.com) 3-5 high resolution photos of your subject matter and the size of the painting you would like to commission. I suggest that you measure your wall space, keeping in mind an extra ~2” on each side to accommodate the frame.
After reviewing your materials, I will respond to you to discuss the details of your commission.
I will send you 1-2 black and white sketches of the overall design for your approval.
Once I review your approval, I will send you a Commission Agreement with a cost estimate and a written description of your future artwork.
Your artwork should take 6 - 10 weeks to complete.
Upon receipt of the balance, I will ship your painting to you or you may come to my studio to pick it up.
What Does a Commissioned Painting Cost?
Prices vary depending on the size and medium of the painting. Prices do not include framing and shipping. I provide a signed Certificate of Authenticity for every commissioned piece. Commissioned drawings are matted and unframed, although I am happy to arrange for framing!
