The Tempest
The Tempest
Inspired by W.H. Turner’s sublime landscapes, The Tempest reflects the awe-inspiring power of the ocean. There is a sense of drama - it seems as though something sinister is about to happen, but luckily daybreak is coming and soon all will be well.
I hung the canvas on the wall and painted standing, moving the paint around with my bare hands. I used the blade edge of my hand to create the crest of each wave. I did use a paintbrush for the horizon line. This painting has a heavy accumulation of layers. It would look nice in a living room, bedroom, or dining room where the light will bring out all the textures.
Make sure to measure your space according to the dimensions below. The painting is not as big as it looks, and I am happy to make a bigger version for you if you need. However, this one will sit beautifully above a medium sized couch.
I use only Golden acrylic paints and archival quality canvases. The edges of the canvas are white.
